Money Mindset: lack to abundance

Changing your money mindset is the greatest gift you can give your business and YOU. Okay, it is one of the greatest, but the gift I will focus on in this blog.
So, what is a money mindset?
It is your unique set of beliefs and attitudes around money. Beliefs that guide or drive your decisions on saving and spending – how you manage your money. It is how you operate in a place of abundance or lack, the freedom you give yourself to experience wealth and abundance, or not.
The fantastic news is… the exact moment you allow yourself to see the limitations you put on money, the stories behind your beliefs and how you further them; you’ve begun your journey. It’s why I love working with my clients on their money mindset because the changes can be instant. You see, once the process of exploration begins, magical things happen.
How do you recognise a lack mindset?
It is much easier to see where you are operating in lack. And if you’ve children listen to what they say, as more often than not, they reflect your money stories. For example, perhaps you’ve heard or used the phrase ‘money doesn’t grow on trees. And when you use this phrase, you are saying there is not enough.
Another phrase that might resonate is, ‘I/we can’t afford X’, and immediately, you are in a place of lack.
Or ‘that’s expensive’, which is one my daughter has started to use, and when she does, it’s never expensive. But she is twelve, and her needs and wants are different from mine. However, she is already displaying a lack mindset.
So, how do you create an abundant mindset?
You can do this in many ways, and it always starts with you. So, changing the words you use, becoming an excellent manager of your money – allowing yourself to enjoy your money. Although the most significant shift will come when you act in alignment, and I like to use the example of ordering off the menu by price.
I was doing the work, the inner work, changing my mindset around money, and feeling pretty abundant. Only to realise I was ordering off the menu by price, meaning I never ordered what I wanted—operating in a place of lack, without realising.
Perhaps you’re still using a lipstick that you don’t even like the colour of or constantly scrabbling at the bottom of your bag for an old biro.? Does this sound or feel abundant? No.
The little things you do or don’t do create a truly abundant mindset, what you are putting up with or settling for that send the strongest message to the universe.
I love working on my money mindset and supporting my clients to work on theirs.
Because the work is never finished, there is no end and no pressure, just small steps and changes every day. Plus, it’s almost instant – money can begin flowing to you immediately and results create momentum to continue the journey. Plus, this work helps you see your deeper limiting beliefs and where your ego is working to keep you safe – allowing you to expand in all areas of your life, not just money.
When I began this work many years ago, one of the first things I noticed was outside of the office. I felt lighter; everything felt a little easier. I became more relaxed, improving my relationships and allowing me to have more fun.
Working on your money mindset helps you explore the limiting beliefs preventing you from living your best life, your most abundant life.
