Roadblocks and how to manage business frustrations

Being a business owner or solopreneur is a journey of roadblocks and frustrations. Think of it as an adventure in which you learn and experience new things, sometimes precisely as you’d planned and on other days taking you down an unexpected path of discovery.
It is a journey of ups and downs, when your ducks may line up neatly one day, appearing on another shuffling around and blindfolded. It is full of surprises, synchronicities and excitement while still being scary.
The roadblocks and challenges you encounter are signs of your adaptability and resilience. Evidence that you can work through anything. So, relax. You’ve got this, and feeling frustrated is normal.
Roadblocks offer Opportunities
Roadblocks are totally normal, and noticing how you feel is one of the ways you can see the opportunities. They can be powerful signs of that which you are no longer aligned or willing to put up with. The nudge you need towards taking action, making a change or doing something differently. Appearing to help you find new ways of working, often bringing you excellent growth opportunities.
Whether emotional or physical, roadblocks help us look at an area or challenge in the business from a different perspective. Think of them as signposts towards or away from something. Exciting stuff.
Approach roadblocks with curiosity
Approaching the roadblock or challenge in front of you with curiosity opens up a world of potential for learning and growth. So, if you can start seeing roadblocks not as something preventing you but as a chance to grow, the frustration will dissipate.
Excitingly, a roadblock can take you on an incredible detour. When you see being in business as a journey, you will confidently explore the possibilities that open up to you and start to enjoy the detours that appear.
Providing you keep the end destination and your vision in mind. You will find yourself relaxing into the journey instead of pushing, rushing, and doing more. Suddenly, you are avoiding the shiny objects on the path, brushing off the quick fixes, and strategically moving forward. You will stop feeling frustrated.
You get to choose to be frustrated or instead…
Choose to explore your emotions and the challenges, roadblocks, or frustrations with curiosity. And when you take this approach, you will more quickly see the opportunities and solutions available. Suddenly, you know the action you can and need to take, the change that is needed.
When seeing your frustration differently, by taking action, your energy shifts, and momentum begins. The lightbulb you’ve been waiting on hits, and you will see past your fears.
Remember, you have the power to choose how you feel. You can decide to stay frustrated, overwhelmed and busy. Or explore with curiosity and deliberately move away from what doesn’t serve you.
The choice is always yours.
