2024 in Review: Lessons, Wins, and Looking Ahead

As the year draws to a close, I’ve taken time to reflect on my journey, completing my annual review, something I do every year. It is when I sit down to explore the highs and challenges and seek out the “aha” moments that shift my perspective, my thinking about the business, and the support I offer. When I deliberately look for the lessons to guide my planning for the year ahead.

The Journey of Letting Go

One of my biggest realisations this year was that I’d been chasing what I thought ‘others’ expected of me, whoever these ‘others’ might be! After over a decade, I no longer want to build a business that lives up to someone else’s vision. Yes, I knew this, and I should have spotted this, but who cares? I have now, and I am super excited about 2025.

The realisation may have happened as I’m closer to retirement than I’d like or for those ‘others’ – I’m older than I look! However, it has happened or why; I now own what is important to me today and into the future. I don’t care what others think or expect – which is an incredible feeling to end 2024.

The Highlights of My 2024 Review

1. Growing with the ONLE Network

At the start of the year, owning two ONLE networking groups wasn’t even on my radar. Yet when the opportunity came, it was one of the easiest decisions I’ve ever made.

Being part of this incredible network has brought me professional growth, genuine friendships, and an investment already paying dividends—financially and personally. ONLE filled a gap I didn’t realise was there: my need to work with others.

2. Action Focused Results Driven Membership

While the membership has yet to reach all its targets, it has become genuinely impactful. Moving it to the Heartbeat platform has simplified the admin and freed up more time to support the members. Renaming the monthly coaching calls “mastermind” sessions brought alignment and clarity.

During the year, I’ve seen members grow, overcome challenges, and celebrate big wins within this space. It has been an incredible journey, and my clients inspire me daily.

What surprised me most was how natural this offering felt when it came to life. After many false starts, the moment I stopped pushing to make something happen, it came to fruition, proving that patience is a virtue.

3. Clarity in My Financial Goals

For too long, I set goals that created unnecessary pressure. Ironically, I would never allow a client to set such unrealistic targets.

Although I failed financially, I thrived in many other ways, and since there are no failures, only incredible learnings, it is a win! Letting go of those unattainable goals has been freeing.

Moving forward, I’ll focus on sustainable income that supports the life I want to live. By aligning my goals with what truly matters—financial stability, time freedom, and peace of mind—I know I’ll achieve my new targets on my terms.

The Challenges Highlighted and Lessons Learned

Content creation continues to take up a lot of my time. While marketing is essential, it often feels relentless. My 2025 goal is to streamline this process, simplify client nurturing, and do more with less.

I have also delved deeper than ever into defining my ideal client. What started as a two-page document is now nearly six pages. This clarity will help me create content that resonates and optimises my marketing efforts for those I’m meant to work with.

Lessons Learned, 2024 taught me to:

• Align my vision with what’s achievable.
• Let go of unnecessary stress, unrealistic goals, and weekend work.

The result? A business I’m excited about, goals that will motivate me and help ensure I fully experience the life I have been gifted.

Moving Into 2025,  a year that is all about clarity, balance, and enthusiasm. My focus will be on:

• Building a smooth-running and fun business.
• Nurturing authentic connections, making this the priority.
• Helping clients pursue their version of success.

Most importantly, I’ll continue to bring my energy and passion while staying true to my goals and working within boundaries that enable me to live a fulfilling life.

What An Incredible Year I’ve Had

Reviewing my business and seeking out valuable lessons has enabled me to define success—moving from chasing numbers to focusing on impact. If 2024 has taught me anything, it’s this: “When you align your business with your values and ambitions, the rest falls into place.” Of course, I knew this, but it appears I needed 2024 to show me.
