‘The road to success is always under construction’ is a quote by Lily Tomlin that resonates with me. Why?

Well, first success doesn’t happen overnight. For a tiny minority, yes, but even then, it will most likely come after years of planning and testing—getting it wrong and trying again. I don’t want to use the phrase sweat and tears, but success can be moments of sheer joy and frustration in equal measure.

Plus, what you perceive as success today may differ for you in six months as you and your business grow. And let’s be honest, what would you do next if success was a one-hit-wonder?

Success is a road you travel

You put the end destination in the satnav, start the car and begin the journey. Then, you encounter twists and turns – roadblocks, diversions, and unexpected beauty spots that you stop to experience. It becomes a road trip, an adventure. Oh, I’m warming to this analogy 😂.

All that you encounter on the journey is part of it. Some elements you’ll fully embrace and will have a positive impact. Others, not so much, but still excellent learning opportunities for you, your business or both. It is how you grow and develop personally and how your business does the same.

Relax into your journey

Believe that success is possible and will happen for you, but most importantly, let it happen. Too often, and I know I’m guilty of this, something doesn’t work out as expected or as we’d hoped. So, we jump on something else and don’t give the activity, event or new elements of our business a chance to happen.

I believe this is because blueprints, methods, and formulas bombard us. Everywhere we look, another marketing technique is thrust upon us with the promise of success if we do X, Y, or Z. Or all three together while standing on our heads drinking a glass of water. Okay, that might be a hiccup cure, but you get the idea, I hope.

Discover your success on your terms

My purpose is to empower, inspire, and motivate women to find their path to a six-figure business and life. This might include using a method, blueprint, or the latest marketing technique, but only if it feels good and is right for you and your business. I support women in being the architects of their dreams and aspirations, constructing their roads, and experiencing their journey.

Because YOU get to decide what success looks like and how you get there, then, picking up my words from above, you must allow it to happen, which requires flexibility and excitement for what is possible. So, be open to the journey and excited for the detour because it may take you on a more beautiful path and perhaps to even greater success.

Following your plan, taking action, and staying on your path is far easier when you know that your success is under construction. Knowing that success could and will most likely change for you as you grow allows you to relax into the journey.

Which sounds nuts, but to explain, my purpose has never changed. The journey and what success looks and feels like to me, yes. So, the end destination is living and operating a business with and true to your purpose. And when you do this, your success journey will be more magical than you could have ever imagined, more exciting – and full of possibility.
