Are you holding yourself stuck?

Are you holding yourself stuck? Not deliberately, although you might be without realising it.
Over the years, I’ve dedicated time to internal work, focusing on and growing my mindset. I enjoy tiptoeing through and embracing the law of attraction, and I have learnt to manifest my desires. I attract money and clients and experience freedom—all because I’m doing the work.
Of course, I continue to focus on internal work because it has positively impacted my business and my life as a whole. How awesome is that? Obviously, I’m still a work in progress. And knowing that the work will never be done is reassuring because I can relax into it.
You might think, ‘I’m not stuck, Lindsey,’ which is excellent to hear. I’m thrilled that you’ve already found a way to create and maintain momentum. Momentum is the opposite of stuck. But what do I mean by ‘keeping yourself stuck’?
Are you stuck, not knowing where to start?
Have you ever had a project you want to start or finish, an activity you wish to incorporate into the business but don’t know where to begin, or a task you’re simply avoiding?
Firstly, you’re not alone. You might be finding it tough to get started because of the enormity of the task or activity. This can cause overwhelm and lead to procrastination, resulting in you doing nothing or giving your attention to anything and everything but the task in hand.
Yet if you break the task or project down into manageable steps, tiny, baby steps you CAN get started and begin enjoying momentum. Knowing the steps you need to take puts you in control and enables you to see past the action, task or project – to the result.
Are you stuck through fear?
This is equally common and often the very thing that you fear will have the most significant impact on your business. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, it’s exactly what needs your attention. Easy for me to say and write, you might be thinking – yet I’ve also been there, knowing I need to implement a change, do something different or new. At times like these, even the filing looks more appealing and important!
When you fear something, it can again be due to the enormity of what lies ahead and what needs to be done. Again, break it down into manageable and less scary steps and get started.
If you’re avoiding an activity and know you’re afraid of getting started. Give it your attention when you’re most productive and at your best—in the morning, after lunch, or late at night if you’re a night owl—whenever you are at your highest energy level.
Are you stuck because you’re overwhelmed by all that needs doing?
This is a huge one for me, and I know that I’ve been guilty of this in the past: Cramming as many activities into the day as I can without taking into consideration the hours available to me, being busy for busy sake, and crossing off the quick and easy wins before giving my attention to the priorities, which I then no longer have time for because I’ve been working on everything else but the priorities. Sound familiar?
Working in this way perpetuates overwhelm and occurs when you’ve not given thought to your bigger vision. Only when you truly understand where you’re going can you plan to reach your chosen destination. It improves your decision-making and increases your productivity because you will quite literally have your eye on the end game.
You won’t allow yourself to be distracted and will choose the right tasks and activities. You will stop jumping on the newest and brightest thing to come along and focus. You’ll discover how to market your business in a way that feels great and resonates with your perfect-for-you client.
